Ultimate Smoothe Chill 2

This is the latest iteration of my faves, greatest, ultimate, and best of the best. I never realized how awesome the first track is, “Club Harlem” (Rick Braun w/Peter White). It came out back in 1995. All of these years later and it’s sitting at the top of my chart.

I walk into a room where my son and my daughter are both deep into laughter, and it’s infectious – I start laughing without even knowing what’s so funny. That is the way that I laugh when I hear “We”ll Be Laughing” (Rick Braun). No idea why I laugh, aside from the title, but, I laugh just the same. “Amor” (Moreza) and Vuela Alto (Franco De Mulero/Blank & Jones) have been out of rotation for a while, so I brought them back for old times’ sake.

I can’t say enough about “Elle Magnifique – Blower’s Cut” (Jazzy James, Jr./ & Kerry B.). The song (probably quite unsurprisingly) reminds me of all of the beautiful women that have crossed my path through the years. It’s a simple phrase that literally means She Beautiful. Ah, the French – gotta love ’em. But my digital grammar program keeps trying to make me change it to She Is Beautiful.

The next four (4) songs have been in rotation for as long as I can remember, although I rather recently discovered Stockholm Summer (Cindy Bradley). Why, oh why??!! The other three (3) are “Berlin Sky” (Mo’jardo w/Tom Gelo), Gelo steps out on Late Night Latte, then returns for “Midnight In Paris” – after all, what’s a smoothe playlist without Mo’jardo?

“Cajun Moon” (Randy Crawford) returns as what can only be called “a different ending with a bit of a riff” by Ms Crawford. De-light-ful!! “Harlem Nocturne” (Michael Lington), “Mal’s Moon” (Cava Menzies/Nick Phillips), “Autumn In New York” (Tom Harrell), and “Somewhere In Between” (Jojo Effect/Lona Mour) drop in as cameos, as they are NEVER out of rotation – just resting up for the next set. The rest are honorable mentions that I’m certain you’ve heard before – surely here, if nowhere else. So, . . . enough chatter from the curator – hit play and enjoy.

Jazz, jazz, and nothing but jazz. Well . . . mostly.
