Three of my faves all in one spot! I’ve never been to Ronnie Scott’s but it is still very high on my list of places to be. The club opened in 1959. That is a very long time and a very apt description of success. The number of greats who have graced the stage is longer than Goliath’s arm.
This offering from the legendary Bill Evans is taken from a four-night engagement at Ronnie Scott’s club back in 1968. Evans appeared with two other legends – bassist, Eddie Gomez and drummer, Jack DeJohnette. It was history in the making before even one note was played.
