I’m not certain what my problem is, but it needs to vanish from my life . . . immediately. I gloss over things/events/people, at times neither paying attention nor taking notice. Bria Skonberg was one such “problem” in my life. I had seen the hype online, in print, and basically “out the corner of my eye”, but I had not really “seen” what I “saw”. Suddenly, she was up close and all up in my space – a live concert on Live At Lincoln Center, a concert that I marked on my calendar so as not to forget! I was totally blown away by her talent and style! She knows her way around a trumpet! She is absolutely animated on stage, full of energy, and very amusing. I can’t say for sure whether that concert was recorded for the archives (I believe that not all of them are), but if it has been archived, you owe it to yourself to check it out.
She hails from British Columbia, Canada, and currently resides in NYC. With seven (7) albums (to date), she has been very much sought-after for more than a few concerts around the world, including but not limited to, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage, Newport, Monterey, and Montreal festivals.
