You get to “meet” not only Joe Henderson (saxophone), but Charlie Haden (bass), and Al Foster (drums) as well. These selections were recorded live at The Geneva Jazz Festival (Italy) on July 9th, 1987. It was restored and then released on the Red Record label in 2023. You should note that the 2023 presentation is a limited-edition, numbered piece! “Serenity” was composed by Joe Henderson. Among other composers, Thelonious Monk (“Ask Me Now”) and Charlie Parker (“Visa) are also listed. By rights, this recording should very well be considered “essential”.
